Expression Engine Support Crew is Awesome!

This is my second post in my newly created blog and it’s the second with a topic of Expression Engine (I know, I need a new topic!). Yesterday, another site I am working on, the comment system on that site stopped working. I looked through the code and tried to fix the problem myself but it just wasn’t working. I could not find anything that would stop it from working correctly. The weird thing is that this site uses essentially the same templates that my other site uses. Same code, same everything, yet the other site would not function. Off to the EE Support Forums I go. The support forums are always very helpful and I wouldn’t be where I’m at today with EE without the support forums. Everyone there is very kind and even though they get asked the same questions over and over and over...and over, they never seem to get upset or aggravated.
I posed my question about my site and one of the tech support specialist took a look at my code and my site and didn’t see anything right off. Unexpectedly, the support person asked for admin access to my site so she could take a look around and see if she could see what was happening. This was unexpected because all the other publishing systems that I’ve used, if there is a problem that one of the “experts” don’t know, it turns into more of an “ohh well” scenario and is left at that with no resolution. Well not the group at EE! The first support specialist couldn’t figure it out so she relayed the message to the other support specialists at EE and withing an hour or so I had 4 (maybe more) people working on this problem. WOW! They worked on it for the better part of the day until they found what was causing the weirdness to happen. In the end, it was my fault. I had an .htaccess file that was causing some problems and once I changed the contents of that file around, everything was back to normal.
So, I just wanted to give a big thanks to the EE support team. Even though EE is a commercial product and is not free, the support I received is way above and beyond the call of duty. It’s really unbelievable.
If you’re looking for the best publishing system for starting a website, look no further than EE. It’s the most intuitive website management system I’ve ever used (and I’ve used a lot), and their support isn’t half bad either.

I could not agree more and to add that community (read free support through discussion groups) is more than willing to share. Not to point fingers but some other Open Source CMS communities had notified me more about patches & security issues by newsletters than actually answering my questions. We are talking weeks and some questions are still pending unanswered...while my site was just about done using EE in the same timeframe.
Thanks to fine product and even better support from EE staff.
All the best!
