Banned From Commission Junction - Who Cares?
I’ve been a member over at Commission Junction (CJ) for more than a year now and a few days ago I go to log in and get a message that reads: “Our records indicate that your account has been deactivated.” Seems weird to me that I’ve been a member for over a year and all of a sudden my account would be deactivated and on top of that, I have no warning that it’s going to be deactivated.
Can I get a notice?
It doesn’t bother me really that my account was deactivated. Why doesn’t it bother me? Because it was my own fault. After doing a little bit of research, I discovered that if you do not make at least one sale every six months, they will deactivate your account. That’s all fine and dandy, but why was my account allowed to stay active for over a year with not one sale and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere I’m deactivated? Seems like a very shady business practice if you ask me and on top of that, I get no notice telling me when, or more importantly why it was deactivated. If I had not tried to log into my account, I still would have no idea it was deactivated.
It seems I’m not the only one this has happened to. As a matter of fact, after chatting with other publishers about this, I find out that the same thing has happened to them and on numerous occasions I might add.
What I find even more humorous than not getting any kind of notice of deactivation is the fact that if I want to sign back up with CJ, I can, but I will have to sign back up under a different email address. Really, how much sense does that make? Would it not be easier to just reactivate my existing account so I don’t have to apply for offers all over again?
Do I care?
Nah, I don’t care. Really, if that’s the way they run their business, I don’t want to be a part of it anyway. I’m sure they really don’t care that I don’t care either, as I hadn’t made them any money yet, but I look at it as their loss. I wasn’t costing them anything by having an idle account and for all they know, I’m the next millionaire web publisher, but I guess they wont ever make a dime from my empire!
So, if you’re thinking about joining CJ, my advice is DON’T! Here are a few other networks to join:

That’s probably because of inactivity. Normally on free subscribtion based sites, if you don’t log-in for 6 months, a year, or something like that - they delete your account.
