Interesting Keywords That Visitors Use to Find Your Site

Search Engine Logos

If you’re like me, you’re always checking your site stats. I look at checking site stats as being similar to waiting to open presents at Christmas as a kid. You have this feeling of anticipation built up and it’s really relieving once you check your stats and see visitors actually making their way to your site. Granted, Random Jabber is fairly new, but my traffic has been picking up as of late and my site stats have been getting a lot more interesting. One thing that has really caught my attention is the different keywords visitors use to find my site through search engines.

Visitors Come Up With Interesting Keywords

When visitors find my site using unique keywords, it really gets me wondering what type of results they were actually searching for originally when they stumbled across Random Jabber. I can only speculate, but some of the keywords used are very interesting. Here are a few recent ones:

  • jabber firefox
  • jabber addons
  • javascript a-z
  • field cannot contain space

I’m really curious to know what people were actually searching for by using these terms, because I really doubt they were searching for the Random Jabber Blog. They were probably a little surprised themselves when they found Random Jabber and thought “what the heck, this isn’t what I wanted!”

In the form of a comment, let’s talk about some of the interesting keywords visitors are using to find your site.

I haven’t had any really interesting ones…
Except for a few song titles/lyrics.

But Cafe CJ has had a few interesting search terms.

It’s great to have visitor from these interesting keywords.
But there are two possibilities.
1) People want to find randomjabber
and
2) People want to have some special scripting code or information regarding it.
