Random Jabber Featured On CSS Mania

I had an article come through on Google Reader a few days ago about how you can increase traffic to your site by submitting your site to different CSS galleries (sorry, I can’t remember who wrote the article. If you wrote the article, contact me and I’ll give you credit
) After reading the article, I thought it was a very good idea. So, last night, I dove into my bookmarks (I’ve accumulated thousands over the years) and I found 74 CSS Gallery Roundup. I basically started going down through the list opening ten or so of the galleries into new tabs in FireFox and submitted Random Jabber to each one.
Today, I was totally shocked to discover tons of traffic (tons by my standards) coming in from CSS Mania and a few other galleries. CSS Mania was brining me the most traffic though. As a comparison, yesterday I had ten visitors to my site. So far, today I’ve had over 400 with an increase (according to PMetrics) of +4975% which I think is pretty amazing for ten minutes of work.
So if you have a custom tableless design, try submitting to some CSS galleries, you might get accepted and see a surge in traffic.

Nice one my friend!
I just redesigned my personal blog. I might try to see if it’ll get accepted.

Daniel: Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for developing that great list of CSS Galleries as well.
Dennis: Just let me know if you ever need help with coding a site. I’ll try to do whatever I can.
Armen: Wow! I’m loving your redesign. If my site got accepted to a few of the galleries, then I have no doubts about yours. Heck, I like it better than my own.
Daravuth: Good luck with submitting to some galleries. I really enjoy your redesign. Let me know if you’re accepted.

Thanks Deron. A bit of an exaggeration I feel, but appreciated nonetheless!

Thanks a lot Nupur!
That’s actually not the article I read, but it is close to the one that I read.

Thanks for that heads up! I am going to use that!!!
I gave you a positive on DesignSnack. :-D
And I also think I shall use your layout for ideas on a blog layout…

Thanks Brian, I appreciate the positive vote on DesignSnack!
Feel free to use the layout for ideas (just not a total blatant copy
) Let me know when you finish the design, I’d love to see it.

This is a very interesting suggestion, Deron.
I’m quite proud of my theme design - using the ubiquitous Cutline theme as a base. Trouble is, I’m no coder, so I can get quite easily stumped. At the moment I’m getting poleaxed by a couple of Parse Errors. I don’t even know what a parse error is!
Still, I’ll keep working on it until I get the much desired Pass.
Is CSS mania only interested in valid CSS, or does the HTML have to validate as well?

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment Rory.
Yes, CSS Mania will only accept XHTML/CSS (tableless) sites, but it doesn’t say anything about being valid. Go ahead and submit your design, the worst that could happen is that it doesn’t get accepted.
Good luck. Hope to see you back by soon.
