Top Commentators for August
I’ve decided to start sharing more link love. I already have dofollow set on all comment links so those of you who do comment frequently will be rewarded with some link love, but also, for the top commentators, I’m going to start a monthly article dedicated to you. So, here’s the first batch.
Brian runs a personal blog called plainBETA. PlainBETA is a collection of Brian’s thoughts usually relating to the online world in some way or another. Brian is going through a redesign of plainBETA and I really like where the design of the blog is headed compared to his previous design.
Keep up the good work Brian, and thanks for being a regular commentator here.
2. Sara
Sara runs The Blog Experiment which is a new forum based around blogging (if you couldn’t tell by the name). She also runs I Love Code which is her personal blog.
Great work on the forum Sara. I have learned a lot from the very knowledgeable members since I joined.
3. David Airey
David is a graphic designer and design consultant and he runs a very popular design blog. When I first started blogging David’s blog was one of the first to be in my RSS reader as I also am a designer. I’ve learned a lot from reading his blog and if you’re into design, no doubt, you will learn something too.
4. Paul Bradish
Paul runs an “internet business blog” known as epursuit. Paul is an Internet Business, Development, and Marketing expert and you can read all of this thoughts on epursuit. Lots and lots of good info for improving your blog and learning the business side of the internet.
5. Shaun Low
Shaun launched his blog around the same time that I launched Random Jabber. His goal is to give readers insight to the internet, technology, investing, making money with a blog and I thin he does a very good job of that. In a short amount of time he’s accumulated a decent number of RSS subscribers, so he’s obviously doing something right.
Late Addition: It seems that since I wrote this article last night that another regular commentator here popped into the comment leaders list. I won’t remove anyone already listed, but I will add another.
6. allgood2
Allgood2 is the screen name of Alnisa Allgood. Wide Eyed and Laughing is her personal online playground where you can find articles on topics ranging from books, movies, television, and websites. Alnisa is also an ExpressionEngine (aff) user, which that alone puts her right up there with the coolest people around.
Thanks Everyone
Thanks a lot everyone for taking the time to participate and being an important part of Random Jabber’s growth.

And for the heads up on those other blogs.

Awesome idea, wherever could you have gotten it?
Is the top commentors built into EE already, or did you code it?

David: No problem at all. I think it’s time to start using the top commentator plugin.
Brian: Thank you for commenting so much and helping Random Jabber get off the ground. Glad I could enlighten you to a couple good sites.
Connor: Yeah I know, right? I mean, no one else on the net is doing the whole top commentator stuff yet are they?
There is an addon for EE that will allow you to show the top commentators. However, a member of the EE forums was kind enough to put together some code for me that displayed the top commentators by month instead of total. By default the plugin for EE keeps a running total and I only needed a monthly basis.

Yeah me! Though I have the suspicion that in the real world this just means, I’ve got a big mouth
Thanks for the mention.

Shaun: Not a problem at all. Thank you very much for participating regularly here.
Sara: I’m glad I’m liked over there.
It’s a great community.
Alnisa: Well, I wasn’t going to say it, but yeah. Kidding...only kidding.

Thank you kindly, Deron, and a great idea to feature your commenters like this. I’d do similarly if I used the ‘top commentator’ plugin.
